The Talamasca
AMC’s third Anne Rice Immortal Universe series, “The Talamasca,” has cast Nicholas Denton (“Dangerous Liaisons,” “My Life is Murder”) in the lead role of Guy Anatole.

The story will focus on the men and women of the eponymous secretive agency responsible for tracking and containing the witches, vampires, and other creatures scattered around the globe.

The series will share the same universe as both the acclaimed “Interview With the Vampire” and the popular “Mayfair Witches” series. AMC has ordered six episodes with the show set to go into production in Manchester next month ahead of a 2025 release. [Source: TV Line]

9-1-1: Lone Star
FOX’s Rob Lowe-led first responders drama “9-1-1: Lone Star” is set to end with the upcoming fifth season which launches on September 23rd. Unlike the main show “9-1-1”, it’s not expected the series will be picked up by ABC. [Source: Deadline]

East of Eden
Golden Globe nominee Christopher Abbott (“The Crowded Room,” “Girls”) has begun negotiations to play the role of Adam Trask in a new TV limited series adaptation of John Steinbeck’s classic 1952 novel “East of Eden”.

Florence Pugh co-stars in the series which is being written and executive produced by Zoe Kazan. James Dean played the Trask role in the original film adaptation. [Source: IndieWire]

Widows Bay
Apple TV+ has handed out a series order for the Katie Dippold-created “Widow’s Bay” with Hiro Murai attached to direct the pilot of the ten-episode series. Dippold will serve as showrunner, writer and executive producer.

The series follows a mysteriously cursed New England island and its superstitious citizens, led by a mayor who refuses to believe their warnings. [Source: Variety]

Mr. McMahon
Netflix has released the trailer for the six-episode documentary series “Mr. McMahon” which chronicles the rise and fall of Vince McMahon, controversial businessman and co-founder of WWE.

The series will cover his transformation of the WWE into a global entertainment powerhouse to the explosive sexual misconduct allegations that led to his eventual resignation. “Mr. McMahon” debuts on Netflix September 25th.
