Josh Brolin previously tried his hand in DC comic adaptations, playing the title character in one of its most infamous flops – “Jonah Hex”.
Over a decade on, he’s may be trying it again, this time taking on a role his former “Deadpool 2” co-star Ryan Reynolds tried and failed with – the Hal Jordan version of Green Lantern.
Nexus Point News is reporting that Brolin has reportedly been offered the Jordan role which is one of the two leads roles in the upcoming HBO series “Lanterns”. The InSneider subsequently confirmed the news, but both outlets indicate it’s not clear if Brolin has accepted or turned down the offer.
The series follows new recruit John Stewart and Lantern legend Hal Jordan, two intergalactic cops drawn into a dark, earth-based mystery as they investigate a murder in the American heartland.
The series is set to be executive produced by Chris Mundy (“True Detective: Night Country,” “Ozark”), Damon Lindelof (“The Leftovers,” “Watchmen”) and Tom King (“Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow”) with the latter two co-writing the series.
The project, which is a “foundational part” of James Gunn and Peter Safran’s DC Universe, has already received an official straight-to-series-order.
