A new report at Puck News indicates Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser, who play married fan favorites Beth Dutton and Rip Wheeler on Paramount Network hit “Yellowstone,” are in talks to star in a sixth season of the series.

The second half of the fifth season is currently in production in Montana, without series lead Kevin Costner who has stepped away from the show and isn’t expected to return.

Just how the series intends to handle the absent John Dutton (Costner) isn’t clear right now. Whatever the case, Paramount must think it’s working if a sixth season is potentially being explored.

The “Yellowstone” sequel series “The Madison” meanwhile, which stars Michelle Pfeiffer and Matthew Fox, seems to have morphed into a different project and is descriobed as “a heartfelt study of grief and human connection following a New York City family in the Madison River valley of central Montana.”

The first part of the fifth season of “Yellowstone” ended with Jamie Dutton (Wes Bentley) effectively declaring war against his sister Beth and father John.

As it is set in the current day, like “Yellowstone,” there may be a potential for crossovers. “Yellowstone” will return on November 10th.
