Details have emerged about “Predator: Badlands” via a casting call leaked for a mystery film, codenamed “Backpack,” currently filming in New Zealand.

According to fansite AvP Galaxy, the casting call page says the production hails from 20th Century Studios, has ‘Badlands’ listed on it, and is being helmed by “Prey” director Dan Trachtenberg.

The casting call also includes a synopsis and details about some of the characters:

“A groundbreaking film in which one of the two main storylines delves into the intricate bond of two very different sisters, their familial ties are put to the ultimate test as they pursue divergent paths and missions.”

The lead actress will play the twin sisters called Thia and Tessa. Thia is smart, witty and has spent most of her life in a laboratory and with this she is “on her first big adventure in the world”. Tessa “has a militant intensity” when it comes to completing her goals and objectives.

Filming is taking place between June and September on the project with the lead actress having to be able to handle heavy action as well as wearing prosthetics/heavy makeup.

Production will take place in Rotorua, Te Kuiti, and the South Head peninsula.

Back in June came the news that Emmy nominee Elle Fanning is in talks to star in the film which Trachtenberg co-wrote with Patrick Aison.
