It has been 83 years since Superman’s co-worker and friend Jimmy Olsen made his debut in DC Comics.

To celebrate, DC Studios chief and filmmaker James Gunn has shared new shots of Skyler Gisondo’s version of the character in his upcoming “Superman” movie opening next year.

One photo seen below was released on X, the other on Instagram, with both looking like a costume test.

Gisondo is known for solid performances in recent years with memorable turns in “Santa Clarita Diet,” “Booksmart,” “The Righteous Gemstones” and “Licorice Pizza”.

The character never met Superman in Zack Snyder’s DCEU – Michael Cassidy played the part briefly in “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” and is killed by terrorists.

Mehcad Brooks played the character in The CW’s “Supergirl,” Ishmael Sahid is currently voicing him in “My Adventures with Superman,” and Douglas Smith will be seen playing him in the upcoming fourth and final season of “Superman & Lois”.

Happy Anniversary to Superman’s pal, Jimmy Olsen, who debuted on this day in 1941 (although he did appear earlier as “office boy” in Action Comics 6). Created by Jerry Siegel, Joe Shuster & Bob Maxwell. I can’t wait for you to see @SkylerGisondo’s portrayal in #Superman on July… pic.twitter.com/PG7DdF7QSL
