Marvel Studios’ “Daredevil: Born Again” arrives on Disney+ next year with the series set to tonally be very much in line with the Netflix “Daredevil” series that preceded it.
In fact Kingpin himself, actor Vincent D’Onofrio, says he believes the show goes ‘much further’ than the Netflix one when it comes to just how dark and violent it gets.
Speaking to Rotten Tomatoes during D23 this past weekend, D’Onofrio says:
“There are some things in this show, that we go much further with than we did on the original show. There’s one thing in particular, that my character does, that I can’t believe made it into the cut.”
Kingpin famously committed some disturbing acts in the Netflix series, most notably the infamous first season scene involving a car door and a Russian mobster’s head.
The new series hails from showrunner Dario Scardapane and directors Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead. D’Onofrio returns alongside Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock/Daredevil, Elden Henson as Foggy Nelson, Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page, Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle/Punisher, and Wilson Bethel as Benjamin Poindexter/Bullseye.
They’re joined by Sandrine Holt, Michael Gandolfini, Margarita Levieva, Michael Gaston, Nikki M. James, Arty Froushan, and Genneya Walton.
“Daredevil: Born Again” will premiere on Disney+ in March next year.
