Lucasfilm used its part of the Disney Showcase at D23 to both tease the second season of “Andor” and offer the first tease of “The Mandalorian & Grogu” movie.
First up, the second season of “Andor” had little on offer – no artwork, release date or stills – just a behind-the-scenes featurette only for the room.
What it did have for everyone else is casting confirmations with returnees including Ben Mendelsohn reprising his “Rogue One” role of Director Krennic, and Forest Whitaker back as Saw Gerrera.
Diego Luna was on hand and teased that it “will follow Cassian over the period of four years as he grows into the hero we see make the ultimate sacrifice in Rogue One”.
More forthcoming was “The Mandalorian & Grogu” movie with director Jon Favreau and producer Dave Filoni on hand to show off a short reel for the room.
The pair confirm that filming on the movie just began a few weeks ago and it doesn’t come out until 2026. What was confirmed today was that the Razorcrest ship is back, and the character of Zeb Orrelios from “Star Wars: Rebels” will appear.
