The Thicket
Tubi Films has announced a September 5th theatrical release date for the western film “The Thicket” starring Emmy winner Peter Dinklage, Juliette Lewis, Esmé Creed-Miles, Macon Blair, Arliss Howard and Leslie Grace.
Dinklage plays a fierce bounty hunter recruited by a desperate man to track down a ruthless killer known only as Cutthroat Bill. He rallies a band of unlikely heroes, including a grave-digging ex-slave and a street-smart woman-for-hire for a perilous quest. Elliott Lester directs from a script by Chris Kelley. Marvel’s Black Panther
Letitia Wright appeared on “The View” this week and was asked about whether she’ll reprise her Shuri role from “Black Panther” in future MCU films. She said:
“Let’s just say … I would like to continue with Shuri. She’s one of my favorite characters. Such a blessing, honestly. I kid you not, I’m so grateful for her…. There’s a lot to, a lot to – a lot coming up.”
No third “Black Panther” has been announced as yet, but the next “Avengers” film is on track to shoot early next year.
Marvel’s Thunderbolts
“Stranger Things” actor David Harbour confirmed on his social media that he has officially wrapped production on the “Thunderbolts*” movie at Marvel Studios.
Harbour posted the news alongside a picture of a propaganda poster with his character Alexei Shostakov/Red Guardian who first appeared in the “Black Widow” movie. The new film opens May next year. [Source: Instagram]
The Agency
Jeffrey Wright will play the mentor and boss to Michael Fassbender’s character in “The Agency,” George Clooney’s political thriller series remake of French political drama series “The Bureau” for Showtime.
Fassbender plays a covert CIA agent ordered to abandon his undercover life and return to London Station. When the love he left behind reappears, romance reignites and soon his mission is pitted against his heart.
Filming is now underway in London with Joe Wright directing the first two episodes and Jez and John-Henry Butterworth serving as writers and executive producers. [Source: Deadline]
Downton Abbey
Focus Features has officially announced a September 12th 2025 release date for the third “Downton Abbey” movie. Most of the original cast members return for the follow-up to the second film which received much better reviews than the first. Simon Curtis will direct from a screenplay written by creator Julian Fellowes. [Source: Focus]
