Assassin’s Creed
Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot has confirmed that multiple remakes of “Assassin’s Creed” games are on the way. This matches reports last year a remake of “Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag” was in the works.
Guillemot says the remakes: “will allow us to revisit some of the games we’ve created in the past and modernize them. There are worlds in some of our older Assassin’s Creed games that are still extremely rich.”
Ubisoft has never remade a previous “Assassin’s Creed” game, though have released numerous remasters including “Assassin’s Creed II” and “Assassin’s Creed Rogue”. [Source: Ubisoft]
Tomb Raider
Amazon Games vice president Christoph Hartmann was asked this week when the company would be sharing more information on its previously announced new “Tomb Raider” and “The Lord of the Rings” games. He tells Variety that news isn’t imminent but isn’t far off either:
“It’s not going to be tomorrow, but it’s not too far away… we’re getting into a much more regular cadence of shipping games. That’s all I’m allowed to tell you right now. It’s all about quality. You don’t want to just be rushed out. That’s doesn’t work. It has to be triple-A quality, because the bar is so high.”
Sam & Max
Skunkape Games have set an August 14th release date for “Sam & Max: The Devil’s Playhouse Remastered,” a remake of the 2010 Telltale classic coming to PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
The game has updated character models, overhauled environments, improved lip-sync performances, and improved graphics, cinematography, and music.
Star Wars: Bounty Hunter
Aspyr has premiered the trailer for a remaster of 2002 action-adventure video game “Star Wars: Bounty Hunter” which will hit August 1st on PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
Visual enhancements include improved environmental textures, new dynamic lighting effects, and a new flashlight tool in the game to help players navigate through dark places.
Dead Rising: Deluxe Remaster
Capcom has officially announced “Dead Rising: Deluxe Remaster,” a fully updated take on the hit 2006 zombie game. Whereas 2016’s HD remake was a barely touched up title, this is more akin to a “Resident Evil”-esque remake with a fully updated take on the original.
No gameplay is in the teaser, only cinematics, but it does show a slightly new look for Frank West and the Colorado mall where he will fight off the undead.
