Emily Blunt is in early talks to join Steven Spielberg’s currently untitled next feature at Universal Pictures.
The project is set for a May 15th 2026 release and marks Spielberg’s first Summer film offering since “The BFG” in 2016, and an ‘event film’ that’s expected to be a major blockbuster.
The project is being penned by David Koepp whose previous collaborations with Spielberg resulted in “Jurassic Park,” “The Lost World: Jurassic Park,” “War of the Worlds” and “Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull”.
No plot specifics have been released though it is rumored to have a UFO theme.
Blunt is coming off an Oscar nomination for Nolan’s “Oppenheimer” and was last in cinemas last month with “The Fall Guy” along with a voice role in the currently in release “IF”.
She’s currently in production on the A24 feature “The Smashing Machine” which reunites her with her “Jungle Cruise” co-star Dwayne Johnson.
