Will Ferrell has set his first scripted TV comedy series, the actor set to star in the ten-episode series “GOLF” for Netflix.
The series is co-created by Ferrell, comedian and “Ramy” star Ramy Youssef, and Josh Rabinowitz (“The Carmichael Show”).
Ferrell will star a fictional golf legend. Youssef will have supporting role, but the project is NOT a “two-hander” and the title is supposed to be capitalised.
Youssef and Rabinowitz will serve as showrunners. Other executive producers include Rian Johnson, Jessica Elbaum, Alix Taylor, Andy Campagna, Ram Bergman and Nena Rodriguez.
Gloria Sanchez Productions, T-Street and Cairo Cowboy are backing the project.
Since SNL, Ferrell has fone some on screen TV work with a role opposite Paul Rudd in the Apple mini-series “The Shrink Next Door” along with guest starring spots in sitcoms like “Grace Under Fire” and “Living Single”.
He’s executive produced a bunch of series too including “Dead to Me” and “Succession”.
