This post is written in protest of RecognizeCity which is spamming my website and illegally reposting my work without consent or monetary compensation.

On March 22, I wrote the following email to their hosting provider:

“To Whom It May Concern,

I am writing to notify you that the website that you host, www.recognizecity.com, has been illegally copying and using content from my website, www.silverscreenriot.com, without my permission. This unauthorized use of my copyrighted material includes articles and other content that I have personally created. I have discovered that this infringement has been occurring since March 14, 2022.

I am the copyright owner of the material being infringed upon. Your actions constitute copyright infringement in violation of federal laws, specifically the Copyright Act of 1976, as amended. This letter serves as a formal demand for you to immediately cease and desist from using all copyrighted materials belonging to me, remove all infringing content from your website, and desist from any further unauthorized use of my work.

Please be advised that failure to comply with this request could result in legal action taken against you to protect my intellectual property rights. I demand a written response from you acknowledging receipt of this letter and outlining the actions you have taken to address this infringement within 14 days from the date of this letter.

I have a good faith belief that the use of the copyrighted material described above as allegedly infringing is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law. The information in this notification is accurate, and under penalty of perjury, I affirm that I am the copyright owner or am authorized to act on behalf of the owner of an exclusive right that is allegedly infringed.

I hope for a quick resolution to this matter and would prefer to resolve this issue amicably. However, if you do not cease the use of the infringing content, I will consider taking further legal action to protect my copyright.

This letter does not constitute an exhaustive statement of my rights, nor is it a waiver of any rights or remedies I may have in this matter.”

They claimed that Recognize City was not infringing upon my intellectual property. Therefore I am posting this with the expectation that it is stolen and reposted on Recognize City.
