A fourth installment of the “Riddick” franchise is on the way with actor Vin Diesel is set to reprise the role on “Riddick: Furya” with production slated to begin August 26th.
Deadline broke the news, saying shooting will take place in Germany, Spain and the U.K. as the project reunites him with writer-director David Twohy.
Diesel will reprise his role of anti-hero Richard B. Riddick, the dangerous escaped convict with the mirror eyeballs who is wanted by every bounty hunter in the galaxy.
Here he finally returns to his home world, a place he barely remembers and one he fears might be left in ruins.
But there he finds other Furyans fighting for their existence against a new monster. And some of these Furyans are more like Riddick than he could have ever imagined.
The film follows on from the events of “Pitch Black” (2000), “The Chronicles of Riddick” (2004) and “Riddick” (2013). Diesel, Samantha Vincent, Thorsten Schumacher, Joe Neurauter and Lars Sylvest will produce.
Worldwide pre-sales for the film have already reportedly been completed.
