Rosamund Pike has joined the growing cast of the Ruben Fleischer-directed heist thriller “Now You See Me 3” at Lionsgate. Specifics of her role are under wraps. Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson, Isla Fisher, Dave Franco, Morgan Freeman, Justice Smith, Dominic Sessa and Ariana Greenblatt co-star.
Anthony Hopkins has been cast as German-British Baroque composer George Frideric Handel in the new biopic “The King of Covent Garden”. Andrew Levitas helms and Tim Slover wrote the screenplay for the film which revolves around Handel making his 1741 oratorio Messiah.
Paul Rudd and Nick Jonas are set to star in “Once” director John Carney’s musical comedy “Power Ballad”. The story follows a wedding singer (Rudd) and a rock star (Jonas), and the song that comes between them. Shooting is underwsy in Dublin.
Kevin Durand has scored a role as one of the villains in the Akiva Schaffer-directed “The Naked Gun” reboot at Paramount Pictures. Liam Neeson, Pamela Anderson and Paul Walter Hauser co-star.
Benedict Wong, Amy Madigan, Cary Christopher and Austin Abrams have been cast in “Barbarian” director Zach Cregger’s horror thriller “Weapons” at New Line Cinema. They join Josh Brolin, Julia Garner and Alden Ehrenreich in the “interrelated, multistory horror epic”. Specifics are under wraps.
Finally, Kerry Condon, William H. Macy, and Clifton Collins Jr. have joined the cast of Clint Bentley’s currently filming “Train Dreams”. Edgerton plays a logger forced to work away from his family and who experiences great love, unspeakable loss, and unique bonds.
