Netflix has premiered the teaser trailer for “Senna,” its upcoming six-episode limited series about the late Formula 1 racing legend Ayrton Senna.
The series is inspired by the life, career and relationships of the greatest Brazilian driver of all time. Gabriel Leone takes on the lead role in the project which also stars Alice Wegmann, Kaya Scodelario, Pâmela Tomé, Julia Foti, Camila Mardila, Johannes Heinrichs and Leon Ockenden.
The clip shows various scenes from his life played out as memories during the driver’s victory at the 1991 Brazilian Grand Prix – the first time he won in his hometown of Sao Paulo.
The film will deal with the three-time F1 champion’s major life events from moving to England to compete in Formula Ford, to his tragic accident in Italy. Senna died in 1994 in San Marino, a career and life cut tragically short.
Vicente Amorim serves as showrunner and co-director, alongside Julia Rezende. Fabiano Gullane and Caio Gullane produce with the support of Senna Brands and the driver’s family.
Gustavo Bragança, Alvaro Campos, Gustavo Bragança, Rafael Spínola, Thais Falcão and Alvaro Mamute penned the script.
