Marvel has various projects in the development stage at present, one of which they have confirmed but have shared zero details on is a top-secret one with Scarlett Johansson.
Last year, both the actress and Marvel Studios chief Kevin Feige confirmed the project exists. The former told ComicBook.com in June it is “still happening” but had stalled due to the strikes.
Then in November, during “The Marvels” premiere, Feige reiterated to ET that: “we’re doing a project with Scarlett”.
That’s about all we had – it was unclear if this project would be live-action or animated, and whether it be a film or TV series or one-off special.
Now, Nexus Point News is claiming they’ve solved one mystery – the project will be a TV series for the Disney+ service.
They report that they discovered the information from, of all places, Linkedin where a creative executive at the studio added the following line on their resume: “serve as an executive on the upcoming TV project Untitled Scarlett Johansson series for Disney”.
Since then, however, the profile appears to have been edited with Johansson’s name removed. When such a project would be ready to go before cameras is unclear as Marvel’s production slate is quite busy for the next year or so.
Filming is currently underway on “Thunderbolts,” “Fantastic Four” begins filming in August, and “Blade” is set to finally begin filming later this year.
Also on the way at some point are the “Vision Quest” series, the “Armor Wars” film, the “Shang-Chi” sequel and a fifth “Avengers” film.
