The West Wing creator and A Few Good Men writer Aaron Sorkin has confirmed he’s writing a new film about the incidents at the US Capitol Building on January 6th, 2021.
Puck News writer Matthew Belloni broke the news, and in his report, he described the project as a quasi-sequel to Sorkin’s script for The Social Network, which would be directed by David Fincher. It will explore “misinformation-for-profit online… and the deadly consequences.”
January 6th remains one of the most polarizing events in modern US history.
According to the official record, a mob of supporters of then-U.S. president Donald Trump gathered after his defeat in the 2020 presidential election. They aimed to try and keep him in power by occupying the Capitol and preventing a vote count to formalize the victory of President-elect Joe Biden. They claim 5 deaths more than 200 cops injured and $2.7 million of damage as a result of what was described as a riot. It is tagged as an insurrection and an attempted coup.
Others dispute this account. Over 40,000 hours of security footage was viewed that showed different interactions between the “insurgents” and various officials. Alongside this, the FBI confirmed they found no evidence that events were the result of an organized plot to overturn the presidential election result, and it was not co-ordinated centrally by any far-right groups or prominent supporters of then-President Donald Trump.
Meanwhile, people from South America, Eastern Europe, and the Far East point and laugh.

“I blame Facebook for January 6”.
