“Peaky Blinders” series creator Steven Knight has confirmed that things are lined up for filming to commence this Fall on the movie based on the period crime series.

Speaking with The NME, Knight says “it’s gonna happen this September” and he’s doing the final polishes on the script which he expects to continue up until the day before shooting.

He adds: “We’re there. We’ve got everything sorted, we’ve got all the commitments we need, we are ready to go” which indicates it’s all ready to get underway.

He confirms the budget will be bigger and as they are “ending this chapter”. He also indicates his Oscar-winning star is raring to get to work on it: “Cillian [Murphy] is really up for it. So I can’t wait for it to start shooting.”

The BBC and Netflix series premiered a decade ago and wrapped its six-season run in April 2022. Murphy starred as Tommy Shelby, a charismatic and cunning crime boss in Birmingham during the aftermath of World War I.

It ran for a total of 36 episodes from 2013-2022 and co-starred the likes of Sam Neill, Helen McCrory, Paul Anderson, Annabelle Wallis and Tom Hardy.
