Today is “Alien” day, April 26th, and to celebrate comes two bits of media worth a look that were put out today.

First up comes the announcement for “Alien: Rogue Incursion,” a new single-player VR title which will launch this holiday season from 20th Century Games and studio Survios.

Set to launch on the PSVR2, Meta Quest 3 and PCVR via Steam, it’s the first VR game set in the world of “Alien” with an all new storyline.

Next comes video released online by filmmaker Fede Alvarez who helms the upcoming “Alien: Romulus” film. As previously reported, the film aims to use as much practical effects as possible when it comes to the Xenomorphs.

That has resulted in not just the full size creatures going practical, but also the spider-like facehuggers which can move fast. This meant building the creatures as working remote-controlled animatronics.

Alvarez has released a behind-the-scenes video of the crew playing with a facehugger created by Weta Workshop. The creation can rush around the floor and even go over ramps.

“Alien: Romulus” opens this Summer and sees a group of young space colonizers coming face-to-face with the creatures in a derelict space station.
