Photos of an apparent piece of tie-in promotional art for the upcoming “Captain America: Brave New World” seems to have confirmed a villainess rumored nearly a year ago will be seen in the film according to The Direct.

Instagram user Colecionaveis Fast Food, an account that collects fast food-related merchandise from all over, has posted a photo showcasing eight toys based on characters and elements of the film that will be part of McDonald’s Happy Meals closer to the film’s release.

The eight figures include Anthony Mackie’s Sam Wilson as Captain America, the second is the same outfit but with wings, a third is Cap’s shield, and a fourth is some sort of red flying vehicle or drone.

A fifth is Danny Ramirez’s Joaquin Torres suited up as the new Falcon, a sixth is Shira Haas’ Ruth, a seventh is Red Hulk which has long been speculated for the film, but it’s the last that’s most interesting.

That figure is named ‘Cascavel’ on the Portugese-language promo page. Cascavel is Portuguese for Rattlesnake. This seemingly confirms a report back from May last year at Murphy’s Multiverse that we’ll be seeing the MCU’s version of Rachel Leighton/Diamondback in the film.

Indeed, the toy shows the character sporting the same hair color and black and purple suit as the villainess from the Marvel Comics.

In the comics Diamondback was a member of the Serpent Society and became romantically involved with Steve Rogers’ Captain America at one point. More recently she’s been in a story with Sam Wilson’s Cap.

A casting call last year sought an early 30s female to play opposite Anthony Mackie as “a villain but also possibly a love interest”. It also suggested more appearances beyond this film.

Rosa Salazar and Xosha Roquemore both have undisclosed roles in the film with “Alita: Battle Angel” and “The Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials” star Salazar seemingly ticking all the boxes to be the one for the role.

Marvel has yet to confirm the character’s appearance or Salazar’s character role to date. Tim Blake Nelson’s The Leader, reprising his role from “The Incredible Hulk,” is expected to be the film’s main villain.

“Captain America: Brave New World” arrives in theaters on February 14th 2025.
