By Former “Baywatch” actress Pamela Anderson is set to join Liam Neeson in the untitled “Naked Gun” reboot in the works at Paramount Pictures.
“Chip n Dale: Rescue Rangers” writers Dan Gregor and Doug Mand are reuniting with that film’s director Akiva Schaffer on the project with Neeson rumored to be playing the son of Leslie Nielsen’s character Lt. Frank Drebin from the original trilogy.
“The Naked Gun” films, a reinvention of the short-lived TV series “Police Squad!,” were a massive success in the late 1980s/early 1990s.
Jim Abrahams, David Zucker and Jerry Zucker produced the films which made over $476 million at the box office from a combined budget of just $65 million.
Anderson has starred in a number of big screen comedy features including “Scary Movie 3” and “Superhero Movie” which are both in the spirit of the humor of “The Naked Gun”.
Seth MacFarlane and Erica Huggins are producing the new film which has already set a July 18th 2025 theatrical release date.
