Whilst out promoting the first part of his two-part sci-fi saga “Rebel Moon” last year, filmmaker Zack Snyder revealed that a ‘SnyderCut’ version of his divisive 2011 fantasy feature “Sucker Punch” was under consideration.

At the time he said the new version aimed to go beyond the extended version seen on disc and could involve bringing back some of the original actors, and he was “working with Warner Bros. to try and find a window to go back in”.

Now with the second part of “Rebel Moon” releasing its theatrical cut next week, Snyder was asked by Empire about potential other ‘SnyderCut’ versions of his past movies.

He brings up “Sucker Punch” and says he’s still asking Legendary and Warner Bros. for the chance to ‘fix’ the movie:

“The only movie I would change is ‘Sucker Punch,’ because it never really got finished correctly. Even the director’s cut is not the correct cut. It’s just an extended version. If I had the chance, I would fix that movie.

I have the footage already shot; they just have to let me put it together. We ask every now and then. We have to ask again. I think there has to be a window when no one’s got the movie.”

Emily Browning starred in the film as Babydoll, a woman who faces a dark, unknown fate as she waits for a drastic brain surgery at a mental asylum.

Reality and fantasy merge as she devises a getaway plan with four other girls. The film grossed just $89 million worldwide.
