Both DC Studios co-chief James Gunn and actor John Cena have confirmed that filming on “Peacemaker” season 2 is set to take place across the back half of this year.

On Instagram, Gunn says filming on the new run of episodes will take place in less than two months. On The Pat McAfee Show, Cena added that he’s beginning work on that soon and that they aim to finish production just before Christmas.

This fits in with reports of the show’s second season commencing in June, and mirrors the timetable of the first season which took exactly six months to film and ran from mid-January to mid-July 2021 in Vancouver.

Gunn has already indicated that scripts are done and he’ll be busy filming “Superman” for at least part of the filming of the second season.

Gunn also previously confirmed the new season will take place after the events of “Superman,” and is a part of the new DCU continuity as opposed to being linked with the old DCEU.

As it’s almost certainly not going to release before Superman arrives in July 2025, a late 2025 airing is looking likely – nearly four years after the first season arrived in January 2022.
