Spider-Verse and “Hawkeye” star Hailee Steinfeld will star opposite Michael B. Jordan in Ryan Coogler’s untitled period supernatural thriller at Warner Bros. Pictures.
Wunmi Mosaku, Jayme Lawson, Delroy Lindo and Jack O’Connell also star in the project which is tipped to unfold in the Jim Crow-era South and involves both vampires and Southern supernatural traditions.
Jordan is rumored to be playing dual roles as twin brothers whilst O’Connell will be a racist antagonist. Everyone else is pretty much under wraps.
The film became the subject of a high-profile bidding war in January and landed a unique deal in which some of the rights revert to Coogler over the course of several decades.
Coogler wrote the script and is producing with Zinzi Coogler and Sev Ohanian. The film heads before cameras later this month in New Orleans and the studio has set a March 7th 2025 release date.
