By Hulu has cancelled its murder mystery series “Death and Other Details,” opting not to renew the series for a second season.
Mandy Patinkin and Violett Beane starred in the series in which Patinkin played Rufus Cotesworth, the “world’s once greatest detective”.
Beane played his protegee, Imogene, as they team up to solve a murder on a luxury ocean liner filled with wealthy and powerful people sailing the Mediterranean.
Their search for the truth soon pits them against a powerful enemy, Victor Sams, whose identity is revealed in the finale. Co-stars in the series included Rahul Kohli, Angela Zhou and Hugo Diego Garcia.
Though the first season mystery wrapped, the closing moments setup a new case in which several severed legs fall from a ski lift.
Mike Weiss and Heidi Cole McAdams wrote the series which aired weekly and came and went in the first quarter of this year with little notice – reviews were mixed and ratings wise it never cracked the charts. Marc Webb directed the pilot.
