By The sequel to Paul Feig’s 2018 mystery-comedy feature just got an upgrade as Allison Janney has joined the cast of the darkly funny twisty thriller follow-up.
The former “West Wing” alum leads a number of new additions to the film alongside “Weeds” alum Elizabeth Perkins as well as Elena Sofia Ricci, Michele Morrone, Alex Newell, Taylor Ortega and Lorenzo de Moor who are also onboard.
They all join returning cast members Blake Lively, Anna Kendrick, Henry Golding, Andrew Rannells, Bashir Salahuddin, Joshua Satine, Ian Ho, Kelly McCormack and Aparna Nancherla.
The sequel will follow Stephanie (Kendrick) and Emily (Lively) as they head to the beautiful island of Capri for Emily’s extravagant wedding to a wealthy Italian businessman. Along with the glamorous guests, murder and betrayal swirl at a wedding.
Jessica Sharzer penned the script with revisions by Laeta Kalogridis, Steve Yockey, and Feig. Filming aims to begin this Spring.
The first film pulled in $97 million at the global box-office along with scoring some very solid reviews. Janney has been recently shooting the second season of Netflix’s “The Diplomat”.
