Tatiana Maslany (“She-Hulk: Attorney at Law”) and Elijah Wood (“Yellowjackets”) are joining Theo James (“The Gentlemen”) in the new film adaptation of the Stephen King short story “The Monkey”.
The story begins when twin brothers Hal and Bill discover their father’s old monkey toy in the attic. A series of gruesome deaths start occurring all around them, so the brothers decide to throw the monkey away and move on with their lives, growing apart over the years.
But when the mysterious deaths begin again, the brothers must reunite to find a way to destroy the monkey for good before it takes the lives of everyone close to them.
Christian Convery (“Sweet Tooth”), Colin O’Brien (“Wonka”), Rohan Campbell (“The Hardy Boys”) and Sarah Levy (“Schitt’s Creek”) will also star in the film which James Wan, Michael Clear, Jason Cloth, Brian Kavanaugh-Jones, Chris Ferguson and Dave Caplan are all producing.
The supernatural story has been adapted for the screen by Osgood Perkins (“Longlegs”), who also directs. Filming on the project reportedly wrapped a week ago.
