Following raves for her work in “Love Lies Bleeding,” actress Katy O’Brian has joined the cast of Christopher McQuarrie’s eighth “Mission: Impossible” at Paramount Pictures and Skydance.
The film follows up “Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning” which grossed over $567 million worldwide last summer and scored a pair of Oscar nominations.
Paramount has opted to drop ‘Part One’ from listings of “Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning” so the eighth film will get a whole new title.
O’Brian joins several newcomers to the franchise aboard for the eighth film including Holt McCallany, Nick Offerman, Janet McTeer and Hannah Waddingham.
Tom Cruise, Ving Rhames, Henry Czerny, Simon Pegg, Vanessa Kirby, Esai Morales, Hayley Atwell, Shea Whigham, and Pom Klementieff are expected to reprise their roles from the prior film.
McQuarrie has returned to direct from his own script and is producing alongside Cruise. The film, which is still in production, will release on May 23rd 2025.
O’Brian is also known for her roles in “The Mandalorian,” “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania,” and multiple TV shows from “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” to “Westworld”. She’ll be seen in cinemas again this Summer in “Twisters” alongside Daisy Edgar-Jones and Glen Powell.
