Julia Roberts is teaming with filmmaker Luca Guadagnino on the thriller “After the Hunt” which has been set up at Amazon MGM.
The story follows Roberts as a college professor who finds herself at a personal and professional crossroads when a star pupil levels an accusation against one of her colleagues.
Soon, a dark secret from her past threatens to come to light. The full cast will be announced at a later date.
Nora Garrett wrote the script and will executive produce with Karen Lunder for Imagine Entertainment. Brian Grazer and Allan Mandelbaum are also producing.
The obvious question here is when this will shoot. Guadagnino has the tennis love-triangle drama “Challengers” in cinemas shortly.
He has already shot and nearly completed the Daniel Craig-led Mexico-set romantic drama “Queer” which is expected to premiere at Venice this year.
He’s also about to re-team with “Challengers” co-star Josh O’Connor on the wistful drama “Separate Rooms” which will come before this.
Roberts has seen a career resurgence of late with the rom-com “Ticket to Paradise” and Netflix’s post-apocalyptic thriller “Leave the World Behind”.
