Amazon MGM Studios and Lionsgate are set to film the sequel to Paul Feig’s 2018 twisty dark comedy “A Simple Favor” this Spring.
The full cast of Anna Kendrick, Blake Lively, Henry Golding, Andrew Rannells, Bashir Salahuddin, Joshua Satine, Ian Ho and Kelly McCormack are all reprising their roles from the first feature.
Jessica Sharzer, who penned the first film, has returned to write the sequel with Feig and Laeta Kalogridis also contributing to the script.
Whereas the original film was based on the 2017 novel of the same name by author Darcey Bell, this will be a new affair.
The sequel sees Stephanie Smothers (Kendrick) and Emily Nelson (Lively) heading to the island of Capri for Emily’s lavish wedding. The destination nuptials between Emily and a wealthy Italian businessman are soon rocked by murder and betrayal.
Feig and Laura Fischer will produce. The first film pulled in $97 million at the global box-office along with scoring some very solid reviews.
