FX & Hulu’s Emmy-winning series “The Bear,” renewed for a third season in November, has also scored a fourth season order.
According to Deadline, the fourth season will be shot back-to-back in Chicago. Officially the fourth season renewal order has not been announced, whilst a spokesperson for FX declined comment to the trade.
The reveal has raised obvious questions as to whether this will pull an “Atlanta” – ending the show after shooting the third and fourth season back-to-back. According to the trade, a decision to end the series has not been determined and a fifth season of the series remains a possibility.
The reason for the switch to a back-to-back season filming is possibility to accommodate schedules as Emmy winners Jeremy Allen White and Ayo Edebiri are both being heavily sought after for feature films.
In addition, creator Mike Storer was revealed to have signed on to write and direct a feature take of Amor Towles’ novel “The Lincoln Highway”.
The third season of “The Bear” will premiere in June and is expected to once again be released as a binge drop on the streamer.
