Bill Hader has reportedly been set to voice the Cat in the Hat in a new animated movie based on the Dr. Seuss book coming in 2025.
The InSneider broke the news about the casting for the film, which hails from Warner Bros. Animation. The property was previously turned into a live-action film in 2003.
Hader, who also co-created and starred in HBO’s acclaimed series “Barry,” briefly played the character before in a well-known 2014 “Saturday Night Live” skit.
Erica Rivinoja and Alessandro Carloni are expected to co-direct the film from a screenplay being written by Rivinoja and Caroline Williams.
It marks Hader’s latest big screen move following films like “Hot Rod,” “Trainwreck” and “IT: Chapter Two”.
It’s expected other animated Dr. Seuss movies may be in the works shortly with a previously announced Warners deal indicating an “Oh, The Places You’ll Go” adaptation is in the works. Their current status is unknown.
