Apple TV+ has given a ten-episode order to an Owen Wilson-led currently untitled comedy series set in the world of professional golf.
Wilson plays Pryce Cahill, an over-the-hill, ex-pro golfer whose career was derailed prematurely 20 years ago.
After he gets fired from his job at an Indiana sporting goods store and his wife walks out on him, Pryce hedges his bets entirely on a troubled, 17-year-old golf phenom.
Jason Keller (“Ford v Ferrari”) wrote the series which he and Wilson executive produce.
Jonathan Dayton, Valerie Faris, Ben Silverman, Howard T. Owens, Rodney Ferrell, Guymon Casady, Lee Eisenberg, Natalie Sandy and Chris Moynihan also executive produce.
Wilson is coming off a well-regarded turn in Marvel Studios’ “Loki” series which released its second season in November last year and is seemingly done.
