“Star Wars” alum Daisy Ridley will be returning to the franchise soon in a new project which was believed to be set around 15 years after ‘The Rise of Skywalker’.
Filming is expected to begin later this year on the film, what has been dubbed ‘New Jedi Order’ in the past, with Ridley having previously discussed her excitement regarding where her character goes next.
Recently, rumors began circulating online about the film’s potential storyline. However Ridley, appearing at SXSW to promote her new film “Magpie,” has shot down many of those reports.
Speaking with Collider, was asked whether ‘New Jedi Order’ would be the film’s title. She says:
“I don’t know! I mean, I think so. From the announcement, I don’t think that’s changed. I know a script is happening, and I’m going to be reading it imminently, which is very exciting.
I think it [filming] could be this year. It could be, but I’m not sure. I think to be honest, the writers’ strike has obviously delayed quite a lot of things. So the intention was later this year. Hopefully, it will be. Otherwise, top of next, I would imagine.”
That would suggest the script is currently unfinished and so any potential story spoilers are considered pure speculation for now. Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy directs the film which also hasn’t set a release date.
