With the second half of the second season of the superhero animated series Invincible arriving later this month, the production team isn’t taking a break, it seems.
Prime Video renewed the Robert Kirkman-created series for a second and third season back in 2021. While the second season hit some production hurdles, the third season should progress with fewer issues and delays, and it’s all running smoother.
Emmy winner Steven Yeun, who voices the lead character Mark Grayson, was recently asked by Collider about the future of the series and the third season in particular.
Yeun confirmed the team is already working on the next season:
“For us, we know that this big break was not fun. We’ve been working hard to get a lot of backlog done. We wanna time this animation thing appropriately. So, yeah, we’ve been working. We’re banking episodes, we know what’s going on.”
The gap between the first and second seasons was over two years, and Kirkman has previously indicated that any future seasons won’t have anywhere near as long a gap, with the hope being a new season each year if everything goes smoothly.
The final four episodes of the second season of “Invincible” air on Prime Video from March 14th.
