The first photo has been released of Hugh Grant in a Tony The Tiger outfit in the Jerry Seinfeld-directed film “Unfrosted”.
Set in 1963 Michigan and inspired by a segment in Seinfeld’s “23 Hours to Kill” stand-up special, the silly story unfolds as sworn cereal rivals Kellogg’s and Post race to create a pastry that will change the face of breakfast forever.
Seinfeld will star in, write and direct the movie which is described as “a tale of ambition, betrayal, sugar, and menacing milkmen”.
The photo showcases Grant, coming off his turn as an Oompa Loompa in Paul King’s “Wonka,” plays a disgruntled Shakespearean actor who finds himself having to reluctantly don the outfit of the Frosted Flakes (aka. Frosties) cereal mascot.
Seinfeld tells Empire that Grant popping up in the outfit: “was the greatest part of the whole thing, honestly, because I am a crazy fan of his. [Hugh] asked me if it matters that Tony the Tiger has a British accent. I told him, ‘No, who cares?’.”
The film is packed with stars including Seinfeld himself as the boss of Kellogg’s along with Melissa McCarthy, Amy Schumer, Dan Levy, James Marsden and Christian Slater.
“Unfrosted” will stream on Netflix from May 3rd.
