Netflix has revealed the final trailer for “Game of Thrones” writer-producers David Benioff and Dan Weiss’ new series – the sci-fi epic “3 Body Problem”.

The project is based on Chinese author Liu Cixin’s sci-fi trilogy which tells the story of what happens when humanity discovers that we are not alone in the universe and prepares for an alien force arriving from a distant and inhospitable world.

A young woman’s fateful decision in 1960s China reverberates across space and time into the present day. When the laws of nature inexplicably unravel before their eyes, a close-knit group of brilliant scientists join forces with an unorthodox detective to confront the greatest threat in humanity’s history.

The Hugo Award-winning novel trilogy runs from the 1960s on Earth until the end of time in the distant fringes of the universe. Cixin and Ken Liu, who wrote the English-language translation of the first and third novels, are consulting producers on the project.

The show’s expansive cast includes Jovan Adepo, John Bradley, Rosalind Chao, Liam Cunningham, Eiza González, Jess Hong, Marlo Kelly, Alex Sharp, Sea Shimooka, Zine Tseng, Saamer Usmani, Benedict Wong and Jonathan Pryce.

Benioff and Weiss serve as showrunners alongside co-creator, writer and executive producer Alexander Woo (“True Blood,” “The Terror: Infamy”).

Rian Johnson and Rosamund Pike are among the many executive producers, as is Brad Pitt’s Plan B Entertainment. Oscar-nominated director Derek Tsang (“Better Days”) directs multiple episodes.

“3 Body Problem” will launch on Netflix on March 21st following a premiere tomorrow night at SXSW.
