Sony Pictures and Alcon Entertainment have premiered the second trailer for the new animated “Garfield” movie which opens in cinemas on May 24th.
Chris Pratt once again leads the voice cast of an animated feature, this time as Garfield and is joined by Samuel L. Jackson who plays a new character named Vic who is Garfield’s father.
In the film, the world-famous, Monday-hating, lasagna-loving indoor cat, is about to have a wild outdoor adventure.
After an unexpected reunion with his long-lost father – scruffy street cat Vic – Garfield and his canine friend Odie are forced from their perfectly pampered life into joining Vic in a high-stakes heist.
Also onboard are Nicholas Hoult (“The Great”), Ving Rhames (“Mission: Impossible”), Hannah Waddingham (“Ted Lasso”), Brett Goldstein (“Ted Lasso”), Cecily Strong (“Schmigadoon”), Harvey Guillen (“What We Do in the Shadows”) and “Saturday Night Live” alum Bowen Yang.
“The Emperor’s New Groove” director Mark Dindal and writer David Reynolds re-team in the same capacities here.
Paul A. Kaplan & Mark Torgove also co-write while original creator Jim Davis serves as an executive producer. Animation is being provided by DNEG.
