Jacob Scipio will reprise the role of Armando Aretas in the upcoming fourth “Bad Boys” movie at Sony Pictures.
Scipio played the secondary villain of “Bad Boys for Life,” operating as an enforcer for his mother Isabel Aretas – widow of a cartel kingpin and out for revenge – including her ex-lover Mike Lowery (Will Smith).
Not only does Armando put Mike into a coma for months via a failed assassination, it’s revealed he’s Mike’s estranged son. By film’s end he’s remorseful with the final scene being Mike visiting Armando in prison and offering him a chance to earn some redemption.
Scipio’s name has been absent from casting news for the film which has been undergoing additional filming lately ahead of its June 7th release in cinemas.
How much of the relationship will be explored in the new film isn’t clear. Scipio is a familiar face for the film’s directors Adil El Arbi and Bill Fallah who also hired him for their abandoned “Batgirl” film.
Paola Nunez, Vanessa Hudgens, Alexander Ludwig, and Eric Dane co-star in the new “Bad Boys” which doesn’t have a title yet. Chris Bremner penned the script whilst Jerry Bruckheimer, Smith, and Doug Belgrad are producing.
