Paramount+ has reportedly committed to a new and currently untitled UK thriller series built around a high-concept premise.

The story unfolds in a society where all men live under ‘The Women’s Safety Act’ which puts them under a strict curfew running from 7pm-7am every night. In addition, movements are tracked by an ankle tag 24 hours a day.

When a woman’s brutally murdered body is discovered during curfew hours outside a Women’s Safety Centre, veteran cop Pamela Green believes a man is responsible – a theory rejected under the curfew system.

Sarah Parish (“Stay Close”) will take on the role of Green. She’s joined by Mitchell Robertson (“Mayflies”) as rookie cop Eddie, Mandip Gill (“Doctor Who”) as a safety centre employee, and singer Alexandra Burke as a well-intentioned local school teacher and curfew advocator.

Nathalie Peter-Contesse produces the series for Vertigo Films in the UK along with Evolutionary Films and Federation Studios. Joasia Goldyn (“Britannia”) is the director whilst Lydia Yeoman “(“The Haze”) serves as lead writer.
