Oscar winners Helen Mirren and Olivia Colman are two of the great British actresses still working today, with both having also taken on the role of Queen Elizabeth II in their time.
This past year Mirren had several roles in movies, one of them being the narrator for Greta Gerwig’s acclaimed megahit “Barbie” film.
Previously it was revealed a deleted scene from the movie would’ve seen Mirren appearing onscreen with Emerald Fennell’s Midge character.
During a recent interview with Variety though, Mirren revealed another scene that was filmed, but didn’t make the final theatrical cut, involved her and Colman:
“It was a very funny scene with Olivia Colman sort of playing drunk and us clashing about who is the real grande dame of British actresses. She comes in and tries to take over the role of the Narrator and I had to fight her off.”
Sadly Colman doesn’t appear at all in “Barbie” which is up for eight major nominations at the upcoming 2024 Academy Awards in March.
