Batman is once again teaming up with his beloved Rachel for a new untitled Frankenstein movie.

Not to be confused with Del Toro’s Frankenstein, Maggie Gyllenhaal will be directing this one. It’s her second directed film and it’s rumoured to be a Bride Of Frankenstein remake.

Bale will be joining an already impressive cast that consists of Annette Bening, Jessie Buckley, Penelope Cruz, and Maggie’s husband Peter Sarsgaard

Together California

Bale was at the launch of his admirable project in Together California, which is designed to help brothers and sisters in foster care stay together by building twelve foster homes and a 7,000-square-foot community center. Whilst there he spoke to The Hollywood Reporter about the movie:

“I’ve got to shave my head next week [for a movie].

Shooting is expected to start in the coming weeks and I asked them to please let me hold off on doing that but everyone was going, ‘What’s wrong with Bale? What’s up with him?’ I said, ‘Just let me get through the groundbreaking and then I’ll be off to join you.’

I’ll be working with the wonderful Maggie Gyllenhaal, Jessie Buckley and so many talented actors in the cast. I’ve got to get busy getting on the rack, breaking my bones and eating lots of fertilizer or something to try and grow.”

Maggie Frankenstein

The synopsis for Maggie’s Frankenstein is:

A lonely Frankenstein travels to 1930s Chicago to seek the aide of a Dr. Euphronius in creating a companion for himself. The two reinvigorate a murdered young woman and the Bride is born. She is beyond what either of them intended, igniting a combustible romance, the attention of the police and a wild and radical social movement.

The project was picked up by Warner Bros. Discovery after Netflix chose to go with Del Toro’s version that stars Jacob Elordi, Oscar Isaac, Mia Goth, Andrew Garfield, and Christopher Waltz.

I’m not dismissing Gyllenhaa’s Frankenstein project but I know which of the two I’m more interested in watching.
