Following her Oscar nomination for Best Actress in “Killers of the Flower Moon,” Lily Gladstone has found her next role which will see her re-team with Martin Scorsese.
Gladstone will star in “The Memory Police,” an adaptation of the acclaimed 1994 science fiction novel by Yoko Ogawa. Both Scorsese and the author will executive produce.
The parable unfolds on an unnamed island where the majority of the residents are subject to collective amnesia. They endure a process of forgetting things with the amnesia enforced by an organization called The Memory Police.
The story follows a novelist as she tries to hide her editor, who can still remember, from the Memory Police while he encourages her to write her book.
Reed Morano (“The Handmaid’s Tale,” “I Think We’re Alone Now”) is on board to direct the feature which boasts a script adaptation by the one and only Charlie Kaufman.
Morano and Margot Hand will produce. Gladstone made history as the first Native American actor to be nominated for an Oscar for her performance in ‘Flower Moon’.
