Warner Bros. Pictures has premiered a new TV spot for Dune: Part Two. It’s been released on social media and is in the form of a featurette rather than a traditional mini-trailer.

We are six weeks away from the delayed release of the movie that is close to the top of many people’s “Most Anticipated” list for 2024. As everyone knows by now, it is the adaption of the second half of Frank Herbert’s seminal sci-fi novel and things really kick off on Arrakis.

The story sees Paul Atreides (Timothee Chalamet) and Lady Jessica (Rebecca Ferguson) leading a life among the desert-dwelling Fremen. Prophecy and galactic politics collide as the plot against House Atreides is laid bare, and the battle to liberate the planet of Arrakis, the sole source of the spice necessary for space-travel, from House Harkonnen will begin.

Zendaya, Dave Bautista, Charlotte Rampling, Stellan Skarsgard, Stephen McKinley Henderson, Josh Brolin, and Javier Bardem all reprise their roles from the first film. Newcomers Austin Butler as Feyd-Rautha, Florence Pugh as Princess Irulan, Lea Seydoux as Lady Margot, and Christoper Walken as Emperor Shaddam IV all join the cast.

Despite the first movie having a day-and-date simultaneous release on HBO Max in the tail end of the pandemic, Dune still grossed over $400 million at the box office. It also earned ten Academy Award nominations, including Best Picture.

Villeneuve again directs from a script he co-wrote with Jon Spaihts. Here is the trailer featurette:
