Marvel Studios’ “Ironheart” began filming back in June 2022 in Atlanta and wrapped principal photography in November that year.
However, as with all Marvel Studios works, additional photography is required. Some was rumored to have taken place in May last year, whereas others have suggested the show’s indefinite delay back in the Fall suggested more reshoots are to take place this year.
Actress Dominique Thorne, who plays the show’s leading character Riri Williams, has now seemingly suggested that filming on the project is done.
Appearing at the Sundance Film Festival this weekend, Thorne tells Deadline:
“Filming has concluded, indeed. I mean, I can say strap in, get ready. It will be a ride, much like they all are. It is an epic journey, and one that I’m very excited to share.”
The series follows Williams, a brilliant teenager who builds her own version of the Iron Man suit in an MIT dorm. The character was first introduced in “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever”.
Previously the film’s producer Nate Moore has called it a direct sequel to “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” with Riri “carrying the experiences she had in this movie back home to MIT”. In addition there are “interesting repercussions” to her adventures.
Alden Ehrenreich, Anthony Ramos, Lyric Ross and Sacha Baron Cohen co-star in the six-episode series.
