Walton Goggins (“Justified”), Patrick Schwarzenegger (“Gen V”), Aimee Lou Wood (“Sex Education”), Sarah Catherine Hook (“First Kill”) and Sam Nivola (“Maestro”) have scored the final major roles in the upcoming Thailand-set third season of Mike White’s “The White Lotus” series on HBO.
The five join the likes of returnee Natasha Rothwell along with Carrie Coon, Parker Posey, Jason Isaacs, Michelle Monaghan, Leslie Bibb, Christian Friedel, Morgana O’Reilly, Dom Hetrakul , Tayme Thapthimthong, Miloš Biković, Lek Patravadi and Shalini Peiris.
Filming is slated to begin in and around Koh Samui, Phuket, and Bangkok in Thailand in February and follows a new group of multi-generational guests at another White Lotus property.
The characters include “a patriarch, a female corporate executive, an actress, a couple of mothers, a country club wife, a misfit and a yogi.” Hook is playing the misfit, Schwarzenegger a finance guy.
The new season will explore “death in Eastern religion and spirituality” according to White a year ago. More recently he dubbed it a “supersized” season that will be “longer, bigger, crazier”.
Due to strike-related delays impacting production, the new season is expected to arrive in 2025.
