Whilst Marvel’s Netflix series began with “Daredevil,” they ended with “The Punisher” which was the last of the six series created for the streamer and which premiered on the service back in November 2017.

Jon Bernthal starred as the brutally violent vigilante Frank Castle/The Punisher, who was first introduced in the second season of “Daredevil” before getting his own show, which ran for two seasons.

Bernthal will reprise the role for the upcoming “Daredevil: Born Again” series, and the hiring has begged the question as to whether we’ll see a full “The Punisher” series again.

In a recent interview with Collider, Bernthal isn’t sure about that question. One thing he is certain of though is his love of the character and commitment to doing it right:

“I think there’s a reason why that character has resonated as deeply and strongly as he has. In the hearts and minds of comic book fans and first responders and people in the military and people all over the globe. I think there’s a little bit of Frank Castle in everybody.

He exists very strongly inside me and I care about that character deeply. I also know that it’s absolutely essential that if we do it, we do it right and we have real sacred integrity to the source material and to what is at the core of Frank.

I’m gonna do my absolute best to make sure that, if and when we do it, we do it right.”

How involved The Punisher is in “Daredevil: Born Again” isn’t clear. The actor has no shortage of work though and was more recently seen in Ava DuVernay’s “Origin” and FX’s “The Bear”.
