Disney has finally set a streaming release for its “The Marvels” film with the Marvel Studios release coming to PVOD platforms on January 16th.
The movie is hitting the likes of Apple, Amazon, VUDU and other PVOD platforms approximately 68 days after it opened in cinemas back on November 9th.
No word on a Disney+ release date but going by past examples with Marvel films, it’s likely to be around mid-late February.
The film ultimately pulled in just $205.6 million at the global box-office, the lowest-grossing film in the MCU and one of the few MCU films not to break-even in its theatrical run.
It joins several other films which have set digital premieres, including the well-received “Dumb Money”, which will come to Netflix on January 21st.
Also coming is Michael Mann’s currently in cinemas “Ferrari” which will hit PVOD platforms on January 23rd, four weeks after its release in cinemas on Christmas Day.
Despite good reviews, Mann’s film has been an underperforming theatrical release with just $23.4 million earned so far from a $95 million budget.
They all join a busy few weeks for digital releases including “Napoleon” on PVOD tomorrow and “Killers of the Flower Moon” coming to Apple TV+ on Friday.
