Uncle Samsik
“Parasite” star Song Kang-ho will make his small-screen debut in the upcoming Disney+ 1960s Korea-set drama “Uncle Samsik”.
The story follows Kim San (Byun Yo-han), an ambitious idealist and Albright scholarship recipient hoping to transform his country into an industrial nation and deliver an American-level of affluence to his people.
Determined to be successful, San attracts the attention of Pak Doochill/Uncle Samsik (Song), a shady fixer willing to do whatever it takes to complete his boss’ goals. The unlikely pair forms an uneasy alliance. [Source: TV Line]
Hacks
Max has confirmed that the third season of its critically-acclaimed comedy series “Hacks,” starring Jean Smart and Hannah Einbinder, will debut on the service in the Spring. A specific date has yet to be finalised. Production on the new season was temporarily halted in May due to the writer’s strike. [Source: Instagram]
In the Know
The trailer is out for the new Peacock stop motion animated comedy series “In the Know” which hails from Brandon Gardner, Zach Woods and “King of the Hill” co-creator Mike Judge. All six episodes debut on the streamer on January 25th.
The series follows Lauren Caspian, NPR’s well-meaning and hypocritical third most popular host. Each episode follows the making of an episode of Lauren’s show as he conducts in-depth interviews with real-world human guests (who aren’t stop-motion)
The Woman In The Wall
Showtime has premiered the trailer for the U.S. release of last year’s six-episode British thriller series “The Woman In The Wall” starring Ruth Wilson.
The “Luther” actress plays a woman named Lorna who wakes up one morning to discover a corpse in her house. She also has a reputation for sleepwalking and doing dangerous things whilst doing so.
As Lorna tries to solve the mystery and prove her innocence, a detective with his own secrets arrives for a different reason entirely and soon the pair’s paths cross. The series hits Paramount+ January 19th and Showtime on January 21st.
Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur
The first official trailer for the second season of Marvel’s animated kids series “Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur” is out. The new run arrives starting February 2nd on Disney Channel.
The new season sees 13-year-old super-genius Lunella Lafayette/Moon Girl having to make tough choices as she continues saving people as a superhero while also dealing with the task of keeping her identity secret.
On the Roam
Max has premiered the trailer for its eight-part documentary series “On the Roam” starring Jason Momoa as he meets the people and craftspeople that have inspired him throughout his life. The series will air double episodes weekly from January 18th through February 8th.
