Just before Christmas this year came the news that Universal Pictures had removed writer/director Jordan Peele’s new untitled fourth directorial effort from a planned Christmas Day 2024 release.
It wasn’t a major surprise, considering the film had aimed to shoot over the Summer, but the writers’ and actors’ strikes put a halt to those plans.
What is a little surprising though is that Universal has also ‘undated’ the other film on the way next year from Peele’s Monkeypaw Productions.
That secondary film was originally slated for a September 27th 2024 release. Like with his planned directorial effort, the reasoning is being put down to the strike.
Others have already swooped in on those dates including “Saw XI” taking September 27th whilst Universal is switching out that Christmas Day release with Robert Eggers’ “Nosferatu” remake.
Absolutely nothing is known about that mysterious Monkeypaw Productions film – no title, cast, synopsis or genre details. It is also completely separate from the other projects like “Goat” and “The People Under the Stairs” remake Peele has been linked to as producer.
